Classes open for 2027-28
Rainbow International School is a CBSE school (Affiliation No. 1130661, School Code 30562) in Brahmand, Thane West. Admissions for 2027-28 are open for:
- Pre-Primary: Jr KG and Sr KG.
- Primary: Class 1 to Class 5.
- Middle School: Class 6 to Class 8.
- Secondary: Class 9 and Class 10.
- Senior Secondary: Class 11 and Class 12, with Science, Commerce and Humanities streams.
From 2027-28 the school starts at Kindergarten, so there is no Nursery class at Rainbow International School. For younger children, our sister preschool brand, Rainbow Preschool International, runs Playgroup and Nursery at six centres across Thane.
Admission to every class depends on seat availability. When a class is full, the school keeps a waiting list. Mid-year admission is possible, subject to seats.
Age criteria for 2027-28
The school follows CBSE norms for age:
| Class | Age |
|---|---|
| Jr KG | 3.5 to 4.5 years |
| Sr KG | 4.5 to 5.5 years |
| Class 1 | Minimum 6 years (6 to 7 years) |
| Class 2 onwards | Follows on year by year from Class 1 |
The minimum age of 6 for Class 1 is mandatory. Share your child's date of birth with the admissions team and they will confirm the right class and the age cut-off date for 2027-28.
How the admission process works
Admission at Rainbow International School follows five steps:
- Submit enquiry: share your basic details through the online form, by calling the admissions desk, or on WhatsApp.
- Counsellor call-back: our admissions team calls you to understand your child's class, location and requirements.
- Campus visit: tour the 3.5-acre Brahmand campus, meet the team and see the school environment first-hand. You can book a campus visit.
- Interaction and documents: a friendly interaction for younger classes and a document review. From Class 9 onwards there is a written admission assessment.
- Admission confirmed: complete the fee process, receive your admission confirmation and get onboarding support.
Documents you will need
Keep these documents ready. The admissions team will tell you which ones apply to your child's class:
- Birth certificate of the child.
- Previous report card.
- Transfer Certificate (TC) and Leaving Certificate (LC) from the previous school, where applicable.
- Aadhaar card of both parents and of the student.
- Two recent photographs of the child.
- Residential proof, such as a utility bill or rent agreement.
- Post-dated cheques (PDC), as advised by the admissions team.
A child joining Jr KG usually does not have a previous school report card or Transfer Certificate. The admissions team will guide you on what is needed for your child.
How to fill the form correctly
A few simple checks save time later:
- Write your child's name exactly as it appears on the birth certificate.
- Choose the class your child will join in 2027-28, not the class they are in now.
- Give a mobile number that is on WhatsApp, so the admissions team can reach you quickly.
- Add your area or building name if you need the school bus. The school's own buses serve homes within 10 km of the campus.
- Use the message box for anything the team should know, such as a sibling already at the school.
Only the fields marked as required must be filled. You can share the remaining details with the admissions team later.
What happens after you submit
After you submit the form, the admissions team calls you to understand your child's class, your location and what you are looking for. They will answer your questions on fees, timings and transport, and help you plan a campus visit.
If your child is applying for Class 9 or above, the team will explain the written admission assessment. For Class 11, they will also talk to you about the Science, Commerce and Humanities streams and how subject combinations are confirmed for each batch.

Choosing the right class and stream

For Class 11, the choice of stream matters. Rainbow International School offers Science, Commerce and Humanities. Students in Class 9 to 12 get career counselling that covers stream selection and guidance on colleges and entrance exams. In Humanities, Sociology is not offered. You can read more on our Senior Secondary page.
