Planning family travel around the school year
A few tips help families plan without missing important school days:
- Check holiday dates with the school office before you book tickets.
- Avoid travel during periodic tests and, for Class 10 and Class 12, during pre-board exams.
- For Class 10 and Class 12, keep the CBSE board exam period free. CBSE announces the board exam dates.
- Remember that the school runs on alternate Saturdays too.
- If your child must miss school, inform the class teacher in advance.
Helping your child with the daily routine
A steady routine makes the school year easier:
- Morning shift (Class 1 to 10): the school day starts at 7:30 am, so an early bedtime and a ready school bag the night before make mornings calmer.
- Pre-Primary (Jr KG and Sr KG): the day runs from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. A regular sleep and meal routine helps young children enjoy the school day.
- Afternoon shift (Class 11 and 12): school runs from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A fixed morning study slot and a proper lunch before school help senior students make the most of the day.
